Plainfield Man, 71, Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting Young Child
A Plainfield man will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars after a jury in Union County Superior Court found him guilty of repeatedly assaulting a pre-teen neighbor. Acting Prosecutor Jennifer Davenport announced Friday that the jury convicted 71-year-old Angel Flores of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child following less than two hours of jury deliberations. James Cosgrove, the longtime director of the Elizabeth Police Department, resigned Tuesday following an investigation into inappropriate conduct by the veteran law enforcement officer, Mayor Christian Bollwage said.
