Police: Landscaper Trying To Burn Beehive Damages Carlstadt Fabric Company Warehouse
A landscaper trying to burn out a beehive using gasoline started a fire at a Carlstadt fabric company, authorities said. Firefighters and police who responded Sunday to the Mood Fabrics Company building on Eastern Way found the landscaper trying to douse the blaze from outside the building with water, Detective Sgt. John Cleary said. Forcing their way inside the warehouse, they found a fire burning near a bay door, Cleary said. Firefighters quickly extinguished it, he said. Paint Thinner? Two Hospitalized By Fumes At Ridgewood Treatment Plant In Glen Rock
Two employees at Ridgewood’s wastewater treatment plant in Glen Rock were hospitalized Saturday morning after being overcome by fumes. Two Ridgewood Water employees and a Glen Rock DPW employee "detected a foreign odor coming from inside the treatment center and went inside to investigate" around 7:30 a.m., Glen Rock Police Lt. Christopher McInerney said. "During their brief investigation, they began to feel sick and exited." Two of the employees were taken to The Valley Hospital, McInerney said. NYC College Tennis Player, 20, Dies In Fiery Cresskill Monument Crash
UPDATE: A 20-year-old college tennis player from Queens was killed when his speeding vehicle slammed into the Camp Merritt Memorial Monument in Cresskill and burst into flames before dawn Saturday, authorities told Daily Voice.
