: Man Slain Near NJ City University Last Month Was Robbing Someone, Police Report
A 24-year-old man who was shot and killed at an apartment building near New Jersey City University last month was robbing someone there at gunpoint at the time, authorities said. The development came to light with the arrests of two men who investigators said were involved in the April 30 holdup but not in the death of David Jones, 24. Jones had a gun in his hand and was wearing a ski mask when police found him in the foyer of the College Street building after midnight, according to a police complaint. Woman From Infamous NJ Sheriff's Job Sting Busted For Burglarizing Post Offices
A woman who once made national headlines when she showed up for a job interview with the Hudson County Sheriff's Office only to be busted for nearly a dozen outstanding warrants was arrested for burglarizing a post office she'd been fired from, federal authorities said. Zyeama Johnson, 29, of Jersey City had been sacked by the U.S. Postal Service when she applied for a security guard's job with the county sheriff's office in the fall of 2022.
