U.S. Attorney: FBI Busts Paterson Officer Who Sold Drugs From Patrol Car
PATERSON, N.J. – FBI agents on Friday arrested a Paterson police officer who they said dealt heroin, crack and pot to a drug buyer working for the government -- sometimes directly from his patrol cruiser. For several weeks up to his arrest, Ruben McAusland, 26, sold the cooperator heroin made to look like Percoset pills, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said. McAusland, who lives in the city and joined the department nearly four years ago, made several other sales to the cooperator beginning last October, Carpenito said. Feds: Crooked Paterson Cops Stole Guns, Cash In Illegal Stops, Searches
PATERSON, N.J. – The FBI on Wednesday arrested two Paterson police officers – one of whom they said accepted a gun in exchange for reducing charges against a suspect – for pocketing cash and valuables during illegal traffic stops and searches, authorities said.
