The Harrison Blue Tide, the defending Senior Division (7th and 8th graders) champs open against perennial Southern Division powerhouse Lyndhurst Bears. The game is a rematch from last year’s playoffs, when the Blue Tide upset the top seed Bears in the opening round.
The Hasbrouck Heights Aviators, the defending Junior Division (5th and 6th grade) champ, travel to the New Milford Green Knights to open their season. One of these teams has represented the Northern Division in the Junior Division Super Bowl since 2010.
The Rutherford Bulldog (3rd and 4th grade) the Pee-Wee Division champs, host the Wallington Panthers. Rutherford went a perfect 11-0 a season ago in winning the Pee-Wee Division Super Bowl.
Elmwood Park, which played all of last season on the road as the field was renovated, takes on Manchester, in its first game in the MFL. Manchester replaces Ridgefield Park, who left the league after last season.
After an eight game regular season, the top four teams in each division will battle in the playoffs. All roads lead to Lyndhurst on November 19, where all three divisions will crown their 2016 Super Bowl Champions.
