Wood-Ridge Police Lt. O’Donnell said 34-year-old Brian Mulligan of Belleville gave him the name and birthdate of another person following Tuesday’s stop, Detective Joseph Rutigliano told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A quick computer check found that the name and vehicle didn’t match.

Once O’Donnell determined Mulligan’s true identity, he discovered $7,735 in warrants — the largest $5,000 out of Nutley in connection with what records show was a 2011 DWI arrest.

Others were from Montclair and Bloomfield, Rutigliano said.

Wood-Ridge police charged Mulligan with hindering apprehension and driving while suspended, then him over to their colleagues in Nutley.
