Henryk Zielinski, 65, had six dozen muscle relaxers that he told police he had shipped to him from Poland using a post office box he established with bogus identification that he bought in Brooklyn, Detective Matthew Mueller told Daily Voice.
Zielinski -- who was delinquent on debt payments and was being evicted -- also had more than 25 credit cards in his name, as well as documents with other names, Social Security cards and driver's licenses, Mueller said.
"It's unknown whether the accounts for the credit cards are his or someone else’s," the detective said. "That's being investigated."
Zielinski told officers who responded to the Avalon at Westmount Station apartment on a domestic dispute call around 11 a.m. Monday that his 43-year-old roommate took his passport and cash.
She then pulled out the bogus IDs, said Mueller, who ended up investigating the case.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office also was notified and assisted, the detective said.
Zielinski was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with various counts of identity theft, forgery and fraudulent documents offenses, as well as distribution of prescription legend drugs.
"This investigation is still on going and all credit cards need to be checked, do as several seized items, including cellphone and computers," Mueller said.
Among the items seized were $5,000 cash, a brand new Apple IMac computer, an Apple Ipad Air, Verizon Ellipsis 8 tablet and an AT&T GPAD X10.1.
