Westwood man charged in Bogota burglary

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Bogota detectives arrested a Westwood man at his home earlier today and charged him taking $2,000 from the bedroom of a Bogota home after kicking in the basement window.

Police called to the Maplewood Avenue break-in yesterday checked the house with the owner, who found the money missing.

Witnesses pointed investigators to 19-year-old Robert Frengul, Detective Jonathan Miskerg told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight. He was taken into custody without incident, with assistance from Westwood police, Miskerg said.

Frengul was being held on $10,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary and theft, pending a first appearance Jan. 17 in Bogota/Little Ferry Joint Municipal Court.
