Two crashes within minutes tie up Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights

ONLY ON CVP: Two vehicles colliding at a Hasbrouck Heights jughandle ended up on the wrong side of Route 17, leading to another collision in which a vehicle being towed on a flatbed fell onto the highway.

A Mercury Mountaineer and Honda Civic were headed south near the Meadowlands Nissan jughandle when they collided and continue across the highway into the northbound lanes around 2:45 p.m.

About 200 feet south, the driver of a vehicle towing another one on a flatbed trailer tried merging into traffic from the shoulder when the trailer hit another vehicle.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

Hasbrouck Heights police and EMS workers responded.
