Topless beach idea floated in Asbury Park

“The strip” could take on new meaning in Asbury Park, where officials are considering opening a topless beach. Women have quietly been doing it on the beach’s north end, anyway, says the guy who’s hot on the idea, so he figures: Why not spread the foobiosity?

“Oh, Sandy, the areolas are rising behind us….”

“I don’t know if there is a need for it, but there was a request from a resident, and we said we will look into it,” Council President John Loffredo reportedly told the Asbury Park Press.

The request came from the owner of a spa that recently opened in the Press’s old downtown building. To this point, it’s had no knockers.

The business owner, Reggie Flimlin, proposed a nearly block-long strip of the Eighth Avenue beach and appears ready to make a mound out of an anthill.

“I do think Asbury is ready to recognize a woman’s right to be comfortable, to sunbathe without tan lines,” she told the APP.  “We celebrate so many different ideologies and choices here, and currently men are topless and women should have the same right.”

Still, her plan could be a bust, considering that any free-swingers would be in full view of the boardwalk.
