Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said members of his Narcotics Task Force stopped the 2008 Buick Escalade on Wednesday as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

A search turned up the secret compartment under the back seat, he said.

Arrested were the driver, Jose Alvarado-Toro, a 32-year-old truck driver from Philadelphia, and Jonathan DeCastro Sanchez, 30, of the Bronx.

Both were released pending Sept. 27 first appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia with the intent to sell or produce heroin, the prosecutor said.
