“Over the past months, this department has received anonymous complaints about on-going prostitution at the Ion Spa,” Police Chief Bryan Gurney said this morning.

Detective Adam Szelag “reviewed blogs that also reported prostitution at the spa,” Gurney said.

On Wednesday, an undercover officer patronized the Lincoln Plaza spa on the highway’s southbound side.

On July 23, 2014, this department conducted an undercover operation at the Ion Spa 875 Rt. 17 SB in Lincoln Plaza.

During his massage, the therapist — identified as Shounan Piao, 47 (above, left), of Flushing, Queens — solicited sexual favors for money, the chief said.

Both she and the owner, 44-year-old Shunfu Jin (right) of Little Ferry, were arrested, he said.

Piao and another therapist, Yingua Zhao, were issued summonses. Zhao was unlicensed, Gurney noted.

Aug. 12 Municipal Court dates were set.

Police also seized $1,400 in cash, the chief said.

Borough Building Official Ralph Venturini closed the business, he added.

The borough “took affirmative steps to eliminate these types of activities in our local massage establishments,” Gurney noted.

“The Ramsey Police Department is committed to maintain a quality of life for our residents and will continue to work in an effort to keep this activity out of Ramsey,” he said.
