The 59-year-old driver from Flushing flagged down Officers Steven Napoli and Byron Miller after stopping his vehicle in the right lane of the southbound Van Wyck Expressway just after 3 p.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said last night.
“Napoli and Miller began administering aid to the driver, who then went into cardiac arrest,” Pentangelo said. “They got him into the ambulance and began life-saving aid by using a defibrillator.”
The resuscitated driver was taken to nearby Jamaica Hospital “and, at last word, is alive and well,” he said.
