Port Authority PD finds assorted knives, scissors, lighters in JFK carry-on

BEYOND BERGEN: A Suffolk County man was arrested by Port Authority police today after a set of metal knuckles with an attached blade — known as a trench knife — and assorted other knives were found in his carry-on bag at JFK Airport, authorities said.

Timothy Schiavo Jr., 29, Patchogue also had several scissors and lighters (pictured) when he was stopped at a Terminal 5 screening point around 2:30 p.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

He was charged with weapons possession and released pending a hearing.
