Antwain Johnson, 26, was being held on $200,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal sexual contact, criminal restraint and illegal weapons possession.

Hasbrouck Heights police got two calls from a Stanley Avenue home reporting a sexual assault and beating of a woman around 5:20 a.m., Monday, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal said Tuesday afternoon.

Johnson had fled, and authorities issued an alert, he said.

Nearly six hours later, Montclair police stopped Johnson in his black four-door Nissan Altima just over their border in Orange.

He was carrying a .357 revolver, the prosecutor said.

If he makes bail, Johnson must wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, remain home from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. and have no contact with the alleged victim, Grewal said.

He was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in Hasbrouck Heights Municipal Court.
