Police say landscaper molested girl, 5

A tip to Moonachie police led to the arrest of a 30-year-old landscape company laborer on charges of molesting a five-year-old girl.

Alfredo Chavez of Helen Drive is being held on $250,000 bail, charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment, for an incident that authorities said happened several months ago.

Chavez, who is married, has an Oct. 19 arraignment scheduled in Moonachie Municipal Court.
