Jessica Mercer, 47, was charged with simple assault and child endangerment.
She remained held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail following her arrest Wednesday.
Mercer, who is single and unemployed, "is to have no contact with the victim and cannot return to the victim’s residence, as conditions of bail," Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.
A March 16 arraignment was scheduled.
