Moonachie Police Up To 41 Arrests In Teterboro For 2016

MOONACHIE, N.J. -- Moonachie police could end up making 70 arrests this year in Teterboro, if trends continue -- nearly all of them of shoplifters from the new big-box stores.

As of Wednesday, they'd made 41 arrests -- four fewer than all of last year.

Quasheema Frye, 26, and Nikkie Smith, 37, of Paterson were fleeing the Walmart with a juvenile Tuesday afternoon when responding officers stopped their van, Sgt. Anthony Fugnitti said.

Inside the vehicle was $382 worth of shoplifted merchandise, he said.

All were released pending court hearings.
