Moonachie Police Arrest Pair In Shoplifting-Turned-Knifepoint-Robbery

MOONACHIE, N.J. -- One of two shoplifters trying to bolt the Teterboro Costco with a television pulled a knife on a security guard who tried to stop them, said Moonachie police who arrested both.

Tuan Vo and Nicole Ripoli escaped through an emergency fire door and fled using a hired car service after Thursday's shoplifting-turned-robbery, Detective Sgt. Anthony Fugnitti told Daily Voice.

Security got the license plate number and gave it to police, Fugnitti said.

Detectives then tracked the Little Ferry couple down, he said.

Vo remained held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery and weapons possession.

Ripoli was charged with shoplifting and hindering. Her bail information wasn't immediately available.
