Charlie H. Kim, 29, was stopped for a traffic violation at 2 a.m. Saturday by Officer Victor Migliorino on the highway's eastbound side, said Sgt. Richard Behrens, the officer in charge of the department.
Kim couldn't produce a license after Migliorino smelled the odor of burnt marijuana, then tried giving the officer a false name, the sergeant said.
A quick run through the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s database identified Kim -- and showed that he had a suspended license, he said.
Kim admitted he had pot in the car, and Migliorino found some of the drug and a pipe used to smoke it, Behrens.
The vehicle was impounded and Kim received summonses for posession of drugs and paraphernalia and providing false information to a law enforcement officer. He also received motor vehicles summonses, Behrens said.
