Moonachie PD: Facebook Post Leads To Arrest Of Walmart Shoplifter

MOONACHIE, N.J. -- Moonachie police tracked down an accused Teterboro Walmart shoplifter thanks to a Facebook post.

Security cameras caught John Rubino, 31, of Ridgefield, who was wearing a hooded Lake George, New York sweatshirt and fled in a black vehicle after taking two speakers worth $300 on Friday, authorities said.

"A short time later the department was contacted with the name of the accused," Detective Sgt. Anthony Fugnitti said Tuesday.

Rubino "got wind that we knew who he was and turned himself in" on Monday, Fugnitti said. He was released on a court summons.
