Juliette Lowney “was walking along the side of the highway” when the motorist saw her, Detective Sgt. Michael Colaneri told CLIFFVIEW PILOT just after 2:20 p.m., moments after Hasbrouck Heights officers dropped off the youngster at Garfield police headquarters.

Juliette was last seen at her northern Banta Avenue home at 9:45 this morning, Garfield Police Capt. Darren Sucorowski said earlier.

City police and firefighters, K9 officers from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and detectives from the county prosecutor’s office searched the Passaic River, River Drive and area construction sites, among other locations.
