Children were released for the day, one classroom at a time, beginning just after noon.
Parents were lined up in cars around the block, while many stood in front of the school, waiting for their youngsters.

All of the Lodi High School students were frisked and had their bags searched on the way out, extending the release time to over an hour, parents said. Female officers were used for the girls, they said.
“I was freaked when the announcement first came on that there was a lockdown cuz the lady that made it was frazzled and u could hear the chaos in the office,” a 16-year-old junior told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “But after a little I wasn’t scared anymore.
“But then I was freaked again by the frisking on the way out,” said the teen, who was dismissed at 12:20 p.m.
“Everyone’s a little jumpy today after yesterday,” a law enforcement officer told CLIFFVIEW PILOT, referring to the Garden State Plaza shooting in Paramus last night.
“It doesn’t look like this report is true,” he said, moments before officials announced the all-clear just before 11:30 a.m., “but no one’s taking any chances.”
Schools throughout the area were being extra cautious today, with some “not letting people out or in” once the day began, the officer said.
A report of a lockdown at Hasbrouck Heights High School, for example, wasn’t true, police said.
“It’s more a lock-in,” an officer told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “It really is better to be safe than sorry.”
