Little Ferry swim instructor held in beating of girlfriend, infant

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A swimming instructor from Little Ferry was being held on $350,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with beating his 21-year-old girlfriend and her 20-month-old daughter.

Eric Ramirez, 24, of Kaufman Avenue, was arrested by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Little Ferry police late last night following the assaults.

The child is OK, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

However, the woman — who doesn’t live with Ramirez — was “beaten pretty badly,” a law enforcement source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Ramirez is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one of assault with a weapon and one of child endangerment.

He’s due for a first appearance in Municipal Court on Oct. 17.
