Police were called at 7:41 p.m. by the manager of the massive stone mansion off Closter Dock Road after he grabbed Ho Jin Lee trying to break in through a rear window, Police Chief Christopher Belcolle told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.
Lee was being held on $35,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and assault on police.
Builty by developer Richard Kurtz, the 30,000-square-foot, four-level home covers baosts a dozen bathrooms, 19 bedroms four kitchens, a grand ballroom, a 4,000-bottle wine cellar, a movide theater, three bars an indoor basketball court and a 65-foot salt water swimming pool.
It’s been the site of Facebook president Sean Parker’s engagement party and reportedly pursued for purchase by billionaire Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
Asking price: $48.88 million (down from an original $68 million five years ago).
Belcolle thanked Closter and North Vale police for their assistance.
