Mohammad Khan, 23, was being processed Friday when offices spotted the car blocking a FIrst Street driveway, Detective Joseph Rutigliano Jr. told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A passenger told Officer Mark Torsiello that his friend, Khan, was at headquarters posting bail for a traffic warrant, Rutigliano said.

Torsiello detected an odor of marijuana, so Rutigliano escorted Khan back to his car, the detective said.

Rutigliano said Khan told him and Torsiello “there may be drugs in the vehicle,” then gave them consent to search it.

Torsiello found a bag of pot, along with non-prescribed Aprazolam, Xanax, Percocet and Adderall, a bag of crushed pills and drug paraphernalia, he said.

Khan posted $500 bail for the warrant and was released on charges of possessing marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, as well as for having drugs in a motor vehicle.
