Officer Michael DeSimone smelled marijuana as he approached the 2003 Honda Civic, parked at a yellow curb at Jefferson and Terrace avenues around 6 p.m. yesterday, Detective Lt. Michael Colaneri told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

“After they ordered them out of the car, they gave conflicting stories,” Colaneri said. “They said they were lost, but neither of them could say where they were going.”

DeSimone found the contraband after obtaining consent to search the vehicle, he said.

A K9 unit was summoned and the dog indicated a drug scent on the sealed bag of currency, Colaneri said.

Scott Brandon Clark, 27, of Dundalk, MD (above, left) and Skylar David Graff, 25, of Baltimore (above, right) and were being held on $50,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, charged with possession of the weapons, the pot and proceeds from criminal activity.

Police were filing for forfeiture of the cash.
