Hasbrouck Heights PD: Defendant Tried To Flush Heroin Down McDonalds Toilet

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- A Hasbrouck Heights man ran into the bathroom of a Route 17 McDonalds and tried to flush heroin down the toilet after police cornered him, authorities told Daily Voice.

Neil Vyas, 29, also had heroin and hypodermic needles in his car and pot in his apartment Friday afternoon, Detective Lt. Michael Colaneri said.

All told, police seized 192 bags of heroin and an eighth of an ounce of marijuana along with the needles, he said.

Vyas was being held on $125,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

Charges include various drug possession and paraphernalia counts, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and hindering.
