The woman told police she arrived home last Thursday and found two men trying to break in. When she confronted them, she said, one pulled a knife and both fled.

She described them and their vehicle for borough police, whose alert was answered by Clifton detectives investigating similar crimes, Colaneri said.

Hasbrouck Heights detectives charged Jeffrey O. Sanders, 45, of Clifton (above, right), and Antrell A. Allen of Paterson (left) – who turns 31 this Sunday — with robbery and weapons possession.

Besides Clifton, police in Secaucus charged the pair, as well.

Both were being held on $250,000 bail each.
