Bergen County officer finds Pennsylvania couple with $30G in hidden car compartment

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Members of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Police Services seized a small amount of marijuana and $30,000 that they said was hidden in a secret dashboad compartmetn after stopping a Pennsylvania couple on Route 46 in Ridgefield Park.

An officer stopped their car for speeding and tailgating on the eastbound highway at 2:10 p.m. Friday, the sheriff’s Anthony Cureton said this morning.

“After detecting an order suspected to be marijuana, the officer obtained consent to search the vehicle and while searching discovered over $30,000 in cash in a high-tech hidden compartment in the dashboard,” Cureton said.

They also found a small amount of pot, he said.

Released on summonses charging them with drug possession and “financial facilitation of criminal activity” were Harry Soto Ramirez, 32, and 22-year-old
Vilamrie Ramos, both of Bethlehem.
