Ocean County Man Gets 5 Years State Prison For Toms River DWI 'Death By Auto' A 56-year-old man from Jackson has been sentenced to five years in state prison in. connection with a fatal DWI crash in Toms RIver, authorities said. Douglas Thompson was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan on Monday, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, as a result of a previously entered guilty plea to death by auto. Ryan also ordered that Thompson’s driving privileges be suspended for life. Thompson pleaded guilty to the offense on Nov. 19, 2020. Prosecutor: Ocean County Man, 56, Admits Fatal Alcohol-Involved Crash A 56-year-old man from the Jersey Shore has admitted to fatally rear-ending another motorist from Toms River in an alcohol-related crash, authorities said. Douglas Thompson of Jackson, pleaded guilty to death by auto on Thursday, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Thompson entered his plea before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan.
