: Hiker Who Went Missing In Ringwood State Park Found In Rockland
UPDATE: A 63-year-old hiker from Wayne who'd gone missing in Ringwood State Park was found a few miles away the next day across the state line in Rockland County, authorities said. Police say they can thank Ring and Facebook. Carol Fumiko Heimbach was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern after she was located in Sloatsburg around 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, said Caryn Shinske, the senior press officer for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. An impaired driver who fled police in Ridgewood hit several vehicles with a sedan before he was finally captured just off Route 17 in Paramus. Lt. Brian Pullman and Officer Paul Knapp spotted a damaged BMW 535 that apparently was involved in a crash at the corner of North Maple and Franklin avenues in Ridgewood around 7 p.m. Thursday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. : Missing Retired Law Enforcement Officer Found With Stab Wound In Bergen County Park
The search for a distraught retired law enforcement officer ended when rescuers found him bleeding from an apparently self-inflicted stab wound in a wooded area of a Bergen County park early Tuesday evening. The 66-year-old victim's wound wasn't considered life-threatening, responders said. Rescuers carried him out of the woods on a stretcher in the Dunkerhook area of Saddle River County Park in Paramus a few miles from his home after concerned loved ones called police. BMW Snaps Ridgewood Utility Pole
A driver escaped serious injury when her BMW sedan took out a utility pole and damaged the base of a light post Friday morning in Ridgewood. Ridgewood EMS took her to The Valley Hospital following the crash on West Ridgewood Avenue. The street was partially closed for several hours while utility crews tended to the pole. Ridgewood police and firefighters also responded.
