Machete-Wielding Suspects Attack 3 Youths In Lakewood: Police
Three youths were attacked by two suspects carrying a machete in Lakewood, authorities said. The attack occurred during a fight on Saturday, June 3 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Lakewood police said. Police received a call from Monmouth Medical southern Campus stating that they had three stab wound victims, police said. The juvenile victims reported that they and the suspects exited their vehicles at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue before a confrontation began. A Lakewood school bus carrying three children collided with a car in which both drivers were ticketed, authorities said. Two people in the car were hospitalized. It was at least the sixth school bus crash in Lakewood this school year, according to prior news accounts. The buses are operated by Jay's Bus Service based in Lakewood. Firefighters, police and EMS crews were called to a school bus crash in Lakewood, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The collision with a car was reported at about 4 p.m. at Ocean Avenue and Seapoint Driver, initial reports said. At least four people were hurt, according to an unconfirmed report. Jorge Juarez Mendoza pleaded guilty in September to multiple charges in connection to the assault last fall and an earlier incident in which he reportedly vandalized the former girlfriend's car, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D.
