Officers Thwart Car Thieves In Atlantic County, Teens Charged Two teens were arrested after police said they tried to steal a car that's been targeted by thieves as part of a social media challenge, authorities said. Galloway Township police said officers responded to a report of three people trying to steal a Kia vehicle on Mohave Drive at around 3:46 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. When police arrived, the three suspects ran away, but an officer did arrest a 16-year-old boy from Pleasantville. How NJ City Is Fighting Back Against 'Kia Boyz' Social Media Trend Of Rampant Car Thefts Ventnor City is trying to crack down on thieves taking advantage of a social media trend by helping the car owners who could be targeted. The city's police department said it will give away free steering wheel locks to owners of certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles. The affected Kia vehicles are between the model years 2011 and 2021.  The impacted Hyundai vehicles are between the model years 2015 and 2021. The wheel locks will be given away at Ventnor City Hall on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. City residents must show proof of residency and vehicle ownership to receive a …
