15-Year-Old Girl Struck, Killed In Lakewood Crosswalk A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed in a crosswalk in Lakewood, authorities said. On Tuesday, May 9 just before 10 p.m., Lakewood Officer Christopher Dunphy was exiting a convenience store located on Route 70 when he heard what he described as a loud bang followed by yelling and screaming that someone was just struck by a car.  Officer Dunphy located a 2006 white Lexus with heavy front end damage at the intersection of Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, police said. Pedestrian Struck By Car On Jersey Shore: Developing A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Lakewood, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Princeton Avenue and East Kennedy Boulevard, initial reports said. Serious Crash Reported On Route 9 Jersey Shore Police, firefighters and EMS crews were responding to a serious crash with injuries on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The two-vehicle crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7  along Route 9 at Alexander Avenue in Howell Township, initial reports said. Lakewood Rescuers Free Construction Worker Who Fell 15 Feet Rescuers freed a worker who fell 15 feet at a Lakewood construction site Friday morning, authorities said. Rescuers who responded to the 8 a.m. call at the site off Attaya Road used a Stokes basket to secure and left the worker out, Lakewood Fire Chief Mike D'Elia Jr. said. A chopper flew the worker to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment of what Lakewood EMS Chief Crystal Van de Zilver said was a possible broken leg and other injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
