A 21-year--old man from Central Jersey has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting, authorities said.
Christopher Hernandez Velasquez, of Perth Amboy, was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, third-degree hindering the apprehension of himself along with various other charges, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Acting Perth Amboy Police Chief Lawrence Cattano.

Authorities: Edison Man, 42, Charged In Fatal Shooting
A 42-year-old man from Edison has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Perth Amboy, authorities said.
Robert Hagens, 42, was charged on Tuesday with the murder of Vidal Carrasquillo-Vasquez, 41, of Perth Amboy, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Perth Amboy Police Chief Roman McKeon.
Hagens also was charged with unlawfully possessing a weapon, they said.
Hagens previously had been arrested on Aug. 24 on a charge of conspiracy to possess cocaine, they said.
