Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street.  Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames. Prior to the fire spreading to 836 West Second Street, officers were able to safely evacuate the occupants of both residences, Middlesex police said. Manchester Township police responded to a structure fire on Riverside Drive at around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, the department said in a news release. Officers found a shed in the side yard of a home fully on fire. Officers evacuated everyone from the house and paramedics took one person to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Passaic House Fire Doused Friends said a woman and her teenage children lost most of their belonging when a July 4th weekend fire damaged their Passaic home. Firefighters quickly got to the Third Street address off Essex Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. and had the fire under control in barely a half-hour. They limited the fire damage to the first floor, where the blaze apparently began, and the second floor, which sustained heavy smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
