William Beattie, 47, retired from the police force on Feb. 1, 2010, according to public records. Police were called to Ogden Road in Deptford at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. Police were called to Ogden Road in Deptford at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. The crash victim, Paul F. Margand, 65, of Deptford Township, served as a Catholic priest in Nebraska in the 1980s before his conviction, the outlet said, citing a report by the Nebraska attorney general. Margand died on Thursday, Sept. 1 after being struck by a car while walking along Cattel Road at about 9:30 p.m., according to Deptford Township police. Off-Duty NJ Officer Tried Strangling Woman In Domestic Violence Clash, Report Says An off-duty Deptford Township police officer is accused of trying to strangle a woman during a domestic violence dispute, according to published reports.  Myron V. Ford, 36, was arrested and charged on Thursday at his apartment by Deptford police, NJ Advance Media says citing court records and a criminal complaint.  Ford was initially jailed and released after a court appearance, NJ.com reported.  Ford was charged with aggravated assault.  Click here for the full report from NJ.com.
