Drunken Atlantic City Boater Indicted In Deadly Summer Crash: Prosecutor
An Atlantic City man was indicted after a boat crash killed a woman last summer, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 53-year-old Jeffrey Jastrzembski for first-degree aggravated manslaughter on Tuesday, Mar. 19, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced in a news release. He was charged in the deadly crash on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023. One boater remained missing and two others were rescued after a boat capsized in the rough waters of Manasquan Inlet, authorities said. The U.S. Coast Guard was using a helicopter out of Atlantic City and a C-130 cargo plane out of North Carolina to assist in the search off of Point Pleasant, the Coast Guard said on Friday, Sept. 15. Swimmer Fatally Struck By Boat In Atlantic City: Police
A swimmer was fatally struck by a boat over the weekend in Atlantic City, authorities said. Norma Michaels, 79, of Ventnor, was swimming in the Intracoastal Waterway near a floating dock in Atlantic City around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, when she was struck by a 20-foot Robalo fishing boat, State Police said. Michaels was pronounced dead and the 52-year-old boat operator, who was not injured, remained at the scene.

Authorities have identified the boater who was killed in a crash in Wildwood earlier this week. The contractors, Randolph Fuson and Charles Baldwin of IEW, were performing maintenance on Tunney Bridge when they noticed an overturned kayak and looked to see if anyone was near, Toms River police said. A whale breached the surface of the water and landed on a fishing boat a few dozen yards offshore Monday in Seaside Park, witnesses said.
