Teens Arrested Trying To Break Into Kias At Bally's Casino Parking Lot: Police
Three 14-year-old boys were arrested after three Kia cars in Bally’s Atlantic City casino-hotel parking garage were broken into, authorities said. Two of the boys allegedly damaged the steering columns of the Kias while trying to steal them, Atlantic City police said on Facebook. A third boy had credit cards retrieved from a stolen vehicle, police said. Detectives Christopher Dodson, Alberto Valles, Eric Evans, and Troy Grams found the boys walking near Connecticut and Wabash avenues at about 9:20 p.m. on Friday, July 14, they said. Massive Search Launched For Atlantic City Man
A search has been launched for a 39-year-old Atlantic City man missing since Sept. 26, authorities said. Mark Farley is described as a white male, 6’0” tall, approximately 225 pounds, with blue eyes and balding. He may be in the area of Bayville, Ocean County. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons & Human Trafficking Unit at 609-882-2000 ext. 2893 or the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766. A total of 17 men have been arrested for luring children in Atlantic City with help from concerned citizens who bust child predators online. The citizens were identified by BreakingAC as MrWEB and Predator Catcher PA. MrWEB recently posted a video called "JUSTICE- Thank You Atlantic County Police, Prosecutors, & Shafiq - 26 In 2 Weeks." It appears to be a montage of them confronting alleged predators. Atlantic City SpotShooter Alert Triggers Loaded Handgun Arrest
A 20-year-old woman from Georgia was arrested in Atlantic City with a loaded handgun after a dispute, authorities said. On Monday at 1:40 a.m., Atlantic City patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Ohio Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. Officers Juanita Harris and William Luengas-Gonzalez detained Samantha Johnson as she walked down an alleyway between two houses. Johnson was found to have a loaded handgun in her purse, police said. A 62-year-old man from Ocean County jumped to his death from an Atlantic City parking garage, authorities said. Patrol officers found the man next to the Caesars Colosseum parking garage on the first block of south Michigan Avenue. The unidentified victim, from Manahawkin, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personal shortly after noon on Wednesday, police said. Atlantic City Boardwalk Store Robbery Never Happened, Police Say
A store clerk has been charged after calling 9-1-1 reporting a crime that turned out to be false, authorities said. At 12:42 p.m. on Monday, Atlantic City patrol officers were called to H & A Fashions in the 1400 block of the Boardwalk in reference to an alleged robbery and damage to the store, police said. The store clerk, Malik Awais, told officers that several people entered the store, stole items valued at $100, pushed him as they fled, and caused property damage totaling more than $5,000, according to Lt. Atlantic City police quickly reacted to a store burglary-in-progress, chasing down a suspect, authorities said. On February 20, 2021, a burglary suspect was arrested after fleeing a store in front of a police officer. At 10:54 p.m. on Saturday, a suspect fled a store in front of a patrol officer. A foot chase resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old Atlantic City man wanted on other charges, authorities said. At 10:24 am, Tuesday Atlantic City Police Detectives Alberto Valles, Darrin Lorady, Ermindo Marsini and Nicholas Berardis of the Special Investigations Section observed Okese Smith in the 1200 block of Caspian Avenue.
