"I can confirm that we are actively investigating an aggravated assault that occurred just a short time ago at a location on River Avenue," said Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith, a spokesman for the Lakewood Police Department on Thursday, July 20.
An unconfirmed report said that the afternoon assault involved a stabbing.
