UPDATE: A quartet of teenaged hikers who had trouble finding their way out of the darkened woods in Oakland near Mahwah tonight after coming in through Ringwood finally made it out after a little over a half-hour, authorities said.
“They weren’t exactly lost,” a source with knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “They called Oakland police and eventually met up with them.”
A BCPD K9 unit and Oakland firefighters with ATVs, among others, were set to begin a search when the quartet emerged around 8:20 p.m. at Camp Glen Gray off Route 202.
The oldest hiker in the group is 18, according to a police dispatcher.
