Wanaque Approves $230,000 Emergency Services Purchases

WANAQUE, N.J. -- Power lift stretchers that can be operated by one person soon will be part of the Wanaque First Aid squad’s equipment arsenal, NorthJersey.com reported.

The purchase of the two hydraulic rigs was among those made possible by $230,000 authorized for equipment for the First Aid Squad and the Fire Department, the story said.

First aid squad members who attended the council meeting where the purchases were approved said heavy lifting often is necessary when moving individuals onto the stretcher and into the ambulance, according to NorthJersey.com.
