Steven Garmany, 50, of Rome, N.Y., was arrested by authorities in New York last week on charges relating to getting a minor to pose for sexual images after seizing computers, storage devices and other hardware from his home during a search.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said detectives from his office yesterday added charges of attempted sexual assault, attempted child endangerment and trafficking in kiddie porn online, after Garmany engaged in chats with members of his Computer Crimes Task Force.

Garmany, who is married and works at an Ace Hardware store, is being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility while parallel investigations by authorities in both states continue. Bail: $750,000.
