He was a graduate of Rutherford High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University, and also served 16 years in the NJ National Guard’s Military Police. He worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years, before retiring in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eleanor, and his three children: Jill Fenton of Bloomingdale, Carrie Ward of Marietta, GA, and Kevin O’Brien of Morristown. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan, Heather, Ashleigh and Erin.
Visitation and service takes place 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 18 at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland. A repast luncheon to follow at Portobello, 175 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that a donation be made in his memory to the Ponds Reformed Church Memorial Fund, 341 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ 07436.
