“We all know how bright and bold Alyssa was,” Alex Courter wrote on a GoFundMe page created to raise money for a memorial bench in memory of Alyssa Russnak.

Nearly $600 had been raised by Wednesday afternoon.

Alyssa was a 14-year-old student at Butler High School when she passed away in October of 2015.

“She was known for her huge personality and bright smile. Alyssa loved to make others laugh and to help anyone she could,” her obituary states.

“Not only is this a memorial for Alyssa but this is a bench that represents a safe place for anyone who is struggling and that wants to chat/be closer to her,” Alex wrote on the GoFundMePage.
