The Fine Grind, 101 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, (973) 837-0199
The Fine Grind: Grind works with a local roaster who processes the Fair Trade beans in small batches. Grind -- which says it’s more than a coffeehouse, it’s part of the community – hosts events like open mic nights and seminars.
Run by local residents Jon and Rhonda Mallek, it also holds an annual “Lucky Latte” contest. Purchase a cup (or two, or three) of this combination of espresso, white chocolate, steamed milk, and Irish cream flavoring topped with candy shamrocks and edible “diamonds” in March and, if your entry wins, you get free coffee and espresso for the entire month of April. Grind also sells sandwiches, salads, and hearty breakfasts like cranberry- orange oatmeal and “egg in a mug,” literally an omelette in a cup.
Most Popular Brew: Espresso-based drinks include "Caramel Overload," drizzled with caramel, and "Vanilla Snuggle," which is topped with whipped cream and marshmallows. Frozen hot chocolate is also a customer fave, the cafe says. The care also offers organic teas ranging from herbal to Yerba mate.
