POMPTON LAKES, N.J. -- Rhino Theatre will present a production of "God of Carnage" in late September and early October -- "a comedy about manners, without the manners."
Craig Woodward directs this production of the 2007 play by award-winning playwright Yasmina Reza, using Christopher Hampton's translation from French into English. It's been performed in London and across Europe, on Broadway and as far afield as the United Arab Emirates.
Roman Polanski also directed a film version, called simply "Carnage," which was released in 2011.
"God of Carnage" is the story of two married couples who meet for the first time shortly after their respective sons have a nasty schoolyard tangle. This production features Paul Diverio, Frank Favata, Juliana Valente and Carmela Wolosz.
The performances are the weekends of Sept. 23-25, and Sept. 30 through Oct. 2. On Fridays and Saturdays, the performances are at 8 p.m., and on Sundays, they're at 3. Tickets are $23 plus tax. You can buy them online here.
Rhino Studio 237 is at 237 Hamburg Turnpike, Pompton Lakes. For more information about the theater, visit its website.
