Portable Radios Stolen From Norwood EMS Building, Suspects From Another Squad Charged Three emergency medical workers with another squad broke into the Norwood EMS building and stole three portable radios, authorities charged. Two of them, Antonio Guinta, 26, and Frank Ballante, 19, both of Norwood, have been with the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad a little over a year, said Franklin Smith, the squad’s captain. The third defendant, Anthony Olsen, 47, of Laurence Harbor was an observer who’d recently been with a squad in South Jersey, Smith said. Heroes: Bergen Mom, Son Rescued From Rising Floodwaters Floodwaters had reached the bottom of their SUV's windshield when heroes from Norwood rescued a Demarest woman and her young son during Tuesday's downpour. It was one of several saves throughout the late-afternoon thunderstorms that rocked North Jersey. First, DPW Supt. Robert Tracy grabbed hold of the Mercedes to keep the swollen brook from sweeping it under a Walnut Street bridge, Police Chief Jeffrey Krapels said.
