A senior suffering from memory loss was reunited with his family following a public appeal by Englewood police. The man -- whose name they believe is Jose Manuel Valero Gomez -- was found walking on a residential stretch of West Palisade Avene near the corner of Palisade Place. Detectives Capture Two Charged With Attempted Murder In Englewood Shooting
Englewood police detectives captured two men accused of shooting at another group during an ongoing dispute last month. Several people in a large group that had gathered on Palisade Place on June 4 were pelting police with rocks and other items when shots were fired on nearby Mattlage Place. No one was wounded by the half-dozen or so rounds fired, although two vehicles were struck, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. No one was struck when someone fired several shots from outside into an occupied Englewood multi-family home Tuesday night, authorities said. Police were "exploring the possibility" that the shooting on West Palisade Avenue off the corner of Palisade Place shortly before 9 p.m. "stems from a stabbing at that very same location several weeks ago," Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. One bullet passed through the wall of an Englewood family's home and another hit their car before dawn over the weekend, said police who were investigating the shooting. Officers responding to a shots fired call at 2:42 a.m. Saturday in the area of West Palisade Avenue and Palisade Place couldn’t substantiate the report, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said.
